Explanation:

NHTSA  is the sole agency which is responsible for reducing the causalities caused on roads such as road accidents leading to major injuries and death.  

It runs various road safety programs to make people conscious while driving. Some of the major programmes are studies conducted by National Center for Statistics and Analysis, safety programs for bicyclist and pedestrians, Driver Licensing and Graduated Driver Licensing etc.  

Along with these programs several minor attempts are also being enforced such as rating systems for vehicles, partnering with agencies to promote safety through marketing etc.
