In the given case, the conclusion would become wrong, only if there is a proof that some of the other hominids were burying the dead prior done by the Homo neanderthalensis. For the claim to exhibit, the anthropologist will have to find evidence, which will make sure that the burial locations of the Homo neanderthalensis are older in comparison to the burial locations of any other hominid species.  

In case, if that is not the thing, and there is a proof that some of the other hominids have been burying their dead prior done by Homo neanderthalensis than the claim will come out to be wrong.
