                    Pyruvate is the end product of glycolysis. Glycolysis was discovered by Embden, Meyerhof and Parnas. Hence, it is also called as Embden-Meyerhof pathway (EM pathway).

Steps of Glycolysis:
                                  It occurs in the cytoplasm of cell under aerobic condition. It comprise of two main steps:

1. Preparatory phase:

2. Oxidative phase:
