Why have so many places in the amazon been turned into reserves?

The reason why so many places in the Amazon been turned into reserves because they want to protect and prevent the tropical rainforest from exploitation of the vast and species-rich biome. Most biodiverse tract of rainforest have an estimated 390 billion individual trees divided into 16,000 species, therefore this natural resources must be preserve for the next generation.
