False is your answer. The Influenza Pandemic of 1918 was the most deadly, (I believe) in history. Nearly 40 million people died during this influenza. More people died of this influenza in a single year than in four years of The Black Death Bubonic Plague from 1347 to 1351. 28% of Americans died of this influenza.

This Spanish influenza was known as the "Spanish flu" or "La Grippe". This flu, only lasting for about 2 years, affected 1/5 of the earth's population. The influenza was most deadly for people from ages 20 - 40. (Not as much for children). 

This is why I believe the answer would be false. The flu nowadays, will hardly ever kill anyone.
