Explain why lightning strikes can be dangerous even when an individual is not directly struck.

Lightning is highly dangerous and it often occurs in association with rainfall. They are unpredictable and contain destructive power. This lightning that occurs is usually comprised of an average lightning bolt of charge about 30,000 amperes. This is equivalent to 100 million volts in terms of electric potential, and they are extremely hot having a temperature of about 30,000°C.  It also sometimes causes a fire.

So, these lightning strikes are very threatening and dangerous, even when an individual is not directly struck by it.
