What properties of carbon explain carbons ability to form different large and complex structures?

bcz carbon has 4 valence so it can make bond with 4 other atoms on the other hand it is very small in size so stability and compatibility is also great. and just bcz that 2 or more carbon atoms can bind to each other it makes longer stable chains with the help of hydrogen or other molecules.
