Solid: The particles of solids are closely packed. They have least kinetic energy as compared to the particles of liquid and gas. They have definite shape and volume i.e. they do not change shape and volume according to the container they are put in.

Liquid: The particles of liquid are loosely packed and thus they have higher kinetic energy as compared to the particles of solid state. They have definite volume however, they can change shape according to the vessel they are stored in.

Gas: The particles of the gas have highest distance among them as compared to the other states of matter. So, they have the maximum kinetic energy as compared to that of others. Gas has no definite shape and volume.

Now, foam balls will show minimum movement when dryer speed is at low thus, they represent the particles of solid.Similarly, at high speed of dryer the foam balls will show the maximum movement and thus will posses the maximum kinetic energy. So, we can conclude that at high speed of dryer they act like particles of gas.Similarly, at medium speed foam balls will act as particles of liquid.
