The new science of chaos, when applied to ecology, indicates that the ecosystem is too sensitive and even a very minute variation in an ecosystem can result in a drastic modification in the environment. It is very tough to determine the modifications that occur as a consequence of that drastic variation.  

For example, the weather is something, which is very tough to determine precisely. The pattern of wind and geophysical processes varies vigorously.
