How do people with no access to a public water supply obtain water for their homes?

People who do not have access to public water supply obtain water from the following sources:

a)Through natural stream such as river

b)Through a stagnant water body such as lake or pond

c)Through man made water collection structure such as wells, reservoirs, tube wells etc.  

d)Through rain water harvesting where they use the water collected  

d. planting trees

the trees take in carbon to make oxygen.
