Contour farming and reducing tillage are two practices that can help reduce erosion.

Contour farming - it creates reservoirs to collect rainwater and reduces soil erosion                                                                                                                               Reducing tillage - allows crops to remain in the soil as to reduce soil erosion; no tilling means no interruption to the soil structure

as resources become scarce because of population growth, the growth decreases after few years due to lack of resources and food.
