The lake with high level of intolerant fish has a high quality of water.

Intolerant fishes can be described as the fishes which need a special environmental conditions for their survival like high quality of nutrients, high oxygen content in water and temperature etc.

While tolerant fishes can live in a wide range of environments like low quality of water.

So when in a lake there is high amount of intolerant fishes it means it contains high amount of quality water.
