REMEMBER: I hypothesis is an educated guess

Example: IF carl spills juice on the carpet

               THEN his mother will punish him

               BECAUSE she's mad he spilled juice on the carpet  

IF heat is added to a system during a phase change

              THEN the temperature will raise

              BECAUSE you are adding heat
