Vasoconstriction happens when smooth  muscles of blood vessels walls tighten making the blood vessels opening smaller.When blood vessels constrict less blood flows near the skin surface thus helps in conserving  the body temperature. The human body maintains the temperature that enzymes work best at thus the vasoconstriction process has to take place to make sure that the body temperature is constant since enzymes work best at an optimum temperature.
