Food chain can be defined as the process by which energy flows through an ecosystem. The energy from the sun is trapped by plants and transferred from plants to animals.

The energy from the herbivores animals are transferred to carnivores and higher animals.

The flow of energy is unidirectional. It flows from the smaller organism to higher organisms.

Sun →producers→  primary consumers→ secondary consumers→ tertiary consumers

Example: Sun → plants→ rabbit →wolf →lion

primary succession begins with a bare rock and ends with a forest secondary succession begins after a natural disaster where there is a temporary setback after a forest fire or local destruction, but the surrounding area can fill in

the transfer for conduction is the heat transfering from the liquid to the spoon

the transfer for convection is the heat rising from the liquid to the air

the transfer for radiation is the heat going through the sides of the cup and to the air
