Amy, an accomplished opera singer, successfully discriminates between different pairs of tones in an auditory task. if we look at the biological foundations that support her discriminations of the tones, we see that some neurons in amy's primary auditory cortex fire strongly when she hears high-pitched tones, while others fire more strongly to low-pitched tones. these best represent
