a) lag phase - In this phase cellular activities takes place but the cell do not grow. Also the size of cells grow but no cell division happens

b) log phase - In this phase the cell starts dividing by the process of binary fission and start doubling themselves in numbers. Metabolic activity is at a high pace for preparing the cell for DNA replication.

c) stationary phase - After the full growth the population starts declining due to diminishing nutrients and accumulating waste products.

d) death phase - At this stage the quantity of waste becomes higher than the nutrients and thus the cell starts dying more and more.
