In nature, the elements oxygen and hydrogen are usually found as gases with the formulas o2 and h2. why? are they compounds? are they molecules?

In nature, the oxygen element mainly occurs in gaseous form. While hydrogen  is also formed of two atoms and is also a colorless, odorless gas just like oxygen. But hydrogen is generally found as water.
