Explanation:

Beach erosion takes away large volumes of sand from the beach. To preserve the natural state of beaches and reduce the effect of beach erosion the method of beach erosion is used. In this sand is mechanically placed on the beaches to compensate for the sediment loss by erosion.  

This method provides a sacrificial sand zone that faces erosion.  The method of beach nourishment widens the beach area and thus increases recreational space. In some cases this even provides habitat to endangered species.
