What is the difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells

The main difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is that eukaryotic cells have organelles that are membrane-bound while prokaryotic cells do not. An example of a membrane-bound organelle is the nucleus.

Another difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is their cellular structure. Eukaryotic cells have larger ribosomes than prokaryotic cells. These ribosomes are also more complex and bound by membrane in eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotic cells also lack a mitochondria.
