The defects in the bone can be diagnosed by using the X ray technique. The small dose of the ionizing radiation is used to generate the picture of the bone.

The dislocation of the bone or joint can be easily diagnosed with x ray. The X ray never shows the formation of the new bone of the periosteum. The material present inside the bone cannot be diagnosed by the x ray technique used in medical application.
