A neutral mutation is defined as a mutation that does not have a positive or negative effect on the organism. One possible way is through silent mutations in the organism's genome which does not change the animo acid of the protein coded for or even if the amino acid is changed, the amino acid is non-crucial to the protein's function and thus the protein functions as per normal.
