Explanation: Hardy Weinberg principle of population (equilibrium) focuses on variation in the gene of an individual, this principle states that allele and genotype frequency in a population will remain constant if there are no disturbing factors like; Natural selection, mutation, non random mating etc.

This means that for a genotype of a population to be maintained there should be no selection of mating individuals, mutation should not occur, there should be random mating, and they should remain in the same environment..
