Explanation:A food web consists of all the food chains found in an ecosystem. Each food chain is one of several paths in which energy and nutrients may take as they move through the ecosystem. A producer in a food web makes up the first trophic level. These are the species or organisms that can produce their own food either through the process of photosynthesis or chemosynthesis as the case may be. Consumers belong to the second trophic levels and these are the group of animals or species that feed on the producers. Therefore,an ecosystem with more producers than consumers won't have an adverse effect as the resources would always be enough for the consumers. Each ecosystem is measured by the level of biomass which is the energy in living organisms. Biomass decreases with each trophic level which means that lower trophic levels have higher biomass than higher trophic levels. An ecosystem can only support a large number of consumers if the number of producers are more this is to maintain balance and recycle biomass within the ecosystem.
