The initial conditions for the Microevolution Gizmo are set such that the initial genotype
percentages we 34% DD, 32% Dd, and 34% dd. The fitness level is set at 100% for both DD
and Dd, but 60% for dd. After 26 generations, the dd genotype still persists in the population.

A) The dd parrots in this simulation were lucky to survive as long as they did. They will probably die off completely very soon.

B) The dd genotype is never eliminated because of mutation. Mutant dd offspring can be born from DD DD pairs.

C) Although dd parrots are much less likely to survive and reproduce, new dd parrots are constantly being born from Dd Dd pairs.

D) The simulation does not accurately depict what would happen in a real population. In real life genes that confer a disadvantage would be eliminated within a few generations.
