In Mitosis DNA is replicated and copied. Mitosis makes up two identical daughter cells (also called diploma cells) with the same number of chromosomes. Eg. A cell has 46 chromosomes and undergoes mitosis the daughter cell will also have 46 chromosome. And Mitosis produces Non-reproductive cells such as skin cells. Whereas, during Meiosis chromosomes are split up to make reproductive cells or gametes. Meiosis cells are similar but not genetically identical like in Mitosis. And Meiosis produces 4 cells(also called haploid cells) which have half the number of genetic information that the parent cells originally had. So by the end of Meiosis you would have 23 chromosomes unlike in Mitosis which ends with 46 chromosomes. Hope this helped!
