The first division of meiosis: the reduction division

In the first meiotic division, a diploid cell (with two copies of each chromosome) will undergo modifications to become haploid (only one copy of each chromosome). They are then sequestered on an equatorial plane. The homologous chromosomes will be separated and each will migrate to one of the two poles of the cell.
