Liver plays many functions in our body: some are here  

i) In Bile production and excretion.

ii) Excretion of bilirubin, cholesterol, hormones, and drugs.

iii) In metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

iv) In Storage of glycogen, vitamins, and minerals etc.

The role of liver in food digestion:- it process the nutrients absorbed from the small intestine. Bile secreted from the liver into the small intestine plays an important role in  fat digestion.

If liver is damaged then the lipid digestion is mostly affected.
