Is it possible for two parents displaying a dominant trait to have a child displaying the recessive trait?

Yes.

To show this, you need to use a punnett square. ( a box drawn into fourths )

Let's say that a mother and a father are expecting another child.

The mother has brown eyes (Bg)

The father has brown eyes (Bg)

Brown appears to be dominant.

But, both of their mothers had green eyes, (gg)

which explains the little 'g' in both the father and in the mother's traits.

Punnett are made in percentages so,
the baby has a
75% chance of having brown eyes
and a
25% chance of having green eyes
