1. Watershed consists of surface water--lakes, streams, reservoirs, and wetlands--and all the underlying groundwater. Larger watersheds contain many smaller watersheds. We can protect them by conserving water every day.

2. No, not all the water in them is usable by humans.

3. It's where the water collects once it falls down as rain from clouds and before it evaporates again.

4. Take shorter showers, fix leaks & turn off the water when not in use. Don't pour toxic household chemicals down the drain; take them to a hazardous waste center. Use hardy plants that require little or no watering, fertilizers or pesticides in your yard.
