What is the function of the following organelles?
nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplast, lysosomes, vacuoles, ribosomes, er
golgi apparatus, cilia, flagella, cell membrane, nuclear membrane, cell wall, cytoplasm

Nucleus: to control the function of the cell.

Mitochondria:The powerhouse of the cell .They take in nutrients, and breaks them down and creates energy for the cell.

Chloroplast: to convert energy from the sun into  sugars for the cell.

Lysosomes:they digest  waste or worn out organelles

Vacuoles: the main function of vacuoles is to separate anything that can be harmful to the cell.

Ribosomes: synthesize proteins for use through out the cell.

ER: creates and folds proteins and then carries these synthesized substances to the Golgi apparatus.

Golgi apparatus: identifying, processing and packaging macromolecules.

Cell membrane: to protect the cell from its environment  by controlling the movement of substances in and out of cells.

Nuclear membrane: to separate the nucleus of a cell from the cytoplasm around it.

Cell Wall: to protect the cell.

Cytoplasm: to hold the cells organelles in place.

The hawk receives 0.1% energy from the caterpillar although the caterpillar gets eaten by another bird smaller than the hawk first
