A friend has come over to your home and flips through your psychology book. She notices the chapters you have to read for this week which are heavily based on biological function, the brain and our senses.
She states: "I don't understand why you are reading so much on physiology and biology. I thought you were
taking a psychology class".
Given what you have read this week and your understanding of our brain, sensation and perception, how
would you explain to your friend the intricate connection between brain, sensation, perception and our
behavior and cognition. In what specific ways might knowing our physiology help us understand how our
mind works. In other words, in what specific way might knowing the brain and sensation help us
understand our daily experiences.
Please use specific examples of brain parts and sensation to connect the mind and brain.
