Using your knowledge about the molecular structure of water, explain why ice forms on the top of a lake.

With my knowledge about the molecular structure of water which states that water is made up of two (2) molecules of hydrogen one (1) molecule of oxygen, ice forms on the top of a lake through a distinct means.

When an Ice forms,the hydrogen atom of one water molecule will then form a weak hydrogen bond with the top of the oxygen atoms of two (2) other of the water molecules.

Thereafter, lining up the water molecules in this designated pattern takes up more space than having them randomly in a jumbled manner just as in the case of water in liquid form.

an active site is a region that is present on an enzyme where the reactants or the substrate molecules we can say bind and experience a chemical reaction. the substrate is basically a reactant whose concentration is changing and that is converting into a product after binding at the active site of an enzyme
