A new Leukemia drug aimed at curing children with the disease is in its final
phase of testing in Stockholm. The experiment will last a total of 5 weeks.
Researchers have gathered two groups. Group A will consist of 2000 children
with Leukemia, ages 5-13. These children are currently in stage 3 of the disease
with similar prognoses. Children in Group A are of all of similar ethnicity with a
50/50 mix of male and female. Instead of the leukemia drug, Group A children
will receive no medication for the duration of the project. Group B will also be
made up of 2000 children with stage 3 leukemia. These children match the
children in Group A with regards to age, prognosis, ethnicity, and gender. Group
B children will receive the experimental Leukemia drug for a total of 5 weeks. At
the conclusion of the project, all children will be tested for leukemia and the
results will be recorded. The number cured of Leukemia will be recorded as
percentage of their group. *
