I'M ANSWERING THE QUESTION FOR YALL What is the difference between a word's denotation and connotation?

Denotations and connotations are another way words can have double meanings. A denotation is the literal meaning or definition of a word, while a connotation is a secondary or implied meaning of that same word. Denotations typically carry the same meaning for everyone, but connotations can vary from person to person. A connotation is the implied meaning of a word. Connotations can color or present a word in a different light because the meaning can be influenced by emotions, past experiences, and even mood. Connotations can also be positive or negative. For example, a home is a structure where people live. This is a basic and acceptable definition of the term home. The connotation can vary. For some people, a home represents family, safety, and security; for others, it does not. I could mean a place of chaos, dysfunction and instability. Even though people live in homes, the meaning of the word can imply different conditions because of an individual’s personal experience.
