What is one reason scientists are trying to culture meat in laboratories instead of simply hunting or raising animals?

Laboratory grown meat doesnt require all the pasture space for raising or feeding animals.

Water use - the amount of water that goes into producing meat is very high when compared to amount of meat that you get back. Water availability is another global issue that may be able to be addressed by lab produced meat.
