A learned behavior is a behavior that develops during an animal's lifetime. Tying one's shoes or solving a math problem are examples of learned behaviors. An inherited behavior is a behavior that an animal is born with. It does not have to be taught. For example, a bird can build a nest for the first time without any help.

A learned behavior is something you come across and you basically learn it as a new skill. An inherit one runs in your family already so you might have it.

Explanation: A learned behavior could be biting your nails you learned it from someone or somewhere. An inherit behavior could be like a medical disease that runs in your family.

What learned behavior and inherited behavior has in common is that they are both traits that can be passed from a parent to their offspring. However, there is one key difference: An inherited trait is a physical characteristic, something that you have no control over and that you can't change. Examples of this include hair colour and eye colour. Learned behavior, on the other hand, is behavior that you have learned from observing others, and it is something that you CAN change. Examples of this include playing an instrument and cooking. You may not know how to do those things now, but it is something that CAN be changed through observation and practice.
