producers within ecosystems are essential as they are at the base of the food chain. plants are examples of producers. they use the process of photosynthesis to capture light energy and use it to convert simple inorganic substances (carbon dioxide and water) into organic substances (glucose).

registered nurse (rn): the rn is responsible for carrying out both the medical plan of care prescribed by the physician as well as the nursing care plan developed by the nursing staff. the rn assesses each resident and modifies the nursing care as needed to meet the patient's needs.

plants absorb water from the soil by osmosis. root hair cells are adapted for this by having a large surface area to speed up osmosis. the absorbed water is transported through the roots to the rest of the plant where it is used for different purposes: it transports dissolved minerals around the plant.
