Explanation:

The chloroplasts are limited by two membranes, the internal and the external membranes. Both of them are separated by the intermembrane space.

In the interior of the organelle, thylakoids are composing the third system of membranes. In the interior of thylakoids, there is an additional compartment named thylakoid space. This membrane system forms piles, known as grana. Different grana structures connect to each other by a longer thylakoid membrane. The photosynthetic pigments are located in the thylakoids, where it occurs the light-dependent reactions.

Surrounding the thylakoids there is a dense liquid called the stroma. Here takes a place the Calvin cycle.
