Wolfgang Oschmann et al(2002) in his publication - The early evolution of the planet earth and the origin of life-stated that (1) Archaea are the most primitive organisms
today, and therefore are generally accepted as close relatives of the last universal
common ancestor; (2) Bacteria efficiently drive energy and matter cycles in anoxic and
oxic (oxygen-rich) environments. Therefore, they were the main driving force of
environmental changes from anoxic to oxic (oxygen-rich) and stimulated further
evolutionary innovations. (3) Eukaryotic cell was the most important innovation, from
which finally the multicellular organisms evolved. Based on Dr. WolfgangOschmann's
observations and your knowledge about the environment and life in early Earth,
describe how life evolved, adapted, and diversified through the Eras yet maintaining
primitive characteristics that can be still observed today in Archaea organisms.
