Quartzite and marble can look very similar. Why do you think artists carve sculptures out of marble more often than quartzite? Explain in 3-5 sentences.

Marble is more often used instead of quartzite because they are much lighter than quartzite, about half the weight which allows for easy movement. Marble is also incredibly easy to carve and polish, leaving a very soft and shiny finish all the while still being durable unlike quartzite. Lastly, marble is really easy to paint on which made it favorable to sculptures who created religious pieces.
