When is energy NOT required in cellular transport?

The passive transport can occur when substances cross the plasma membrane without any kind of input of energy from the cell. When there is no energy its it's because it needed  the substances because they are moving from an area where they have a higher concentration to an area where they have a lower concentration. hope this helps you :)
