Plants need three things for photosynthesis to occur: water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. How do those things enter a plant? Water, along with important minerals, enters a plant
from the soil where the plant's roots act like straws "drinking" it up, Carbon dioxide enters a
plant from the atmosphere, and it comes in through the leaves. More specifically, carbon
dioxide enters a plant through tiny pores or openings on leaves called stomata. Sunlight,
obviously, comes from the sun. But how does it enter the plant to be converted into
chemical energy that the plant can use? Well, green plants are green because of a pigment
called chlorophyll. That pigment inside of plant cells absorbs the sun's energy, making it
possible for photosynthesis to occur.
Based on the passage, if human cells had a lot of chlorophyll, they would most likely
A
not need to drink water.
B
be green.
U
breathe carbon dioxide.
D
have leaves.

Read the following scenario to answer the following question. in some zoos, rare crosses between a male lion and a female tiger have produced hybrid offspring called "ligers." male ligers are sterile but some female ligers are fertile. in the wild, lion and tiger ranges do not naturally overlap, making such a cross unlikely. furthermore, the solitary behavior of tigers and the social organizations of lions create behavioral differences. applying the biological species concept, the sterility of ligers reveals that a. lions are probably a subspecies of tigers b. tigers and lions are the same species c. a new species called "ligers" is forming d. tigers and lions are separate species

What is the difference between the conducting zone and the respiratory zone of the respiratory system? the conducting zone is a series of cavities and tubes that move air to the respiratory zone where gases exchange with the bloodstream. the conducting zone exchanges gases between the lungs and the alveoli and the respiratory zone is a series of cavities and tubes that move air to the conducting zone. the conducting zone moves oxygen into the cells and the respiratory zone takes carbon dioxide away from the cells. the conducting zone moves oxygen into the bloodstream and the respiratory zone takes carbon dioxide away from the bloodstream.
