2. Catalase is an enzyme present in both animal and plant cells. It helps in breaking down of Hydrogen peroxide (toxic waste, produced as a result of cellular metabolism) and releases water and oxygen bubbles as a product, see the reaction below. An investigation was carried out to see the effect of pH on catalase. The rate of reaction can be measured by the amount of time it takes to collect 10cm3 of oxygen.
