is moving northwest. Hawai'i has eight major islands and a
number of smaller landforms. The most recent volcanic
eruption of Kilauea on the Island of Hawai'i began in 1983.
On May 3, 2018, the Kilauea eruption became even more
dramatic following a large earthquake. The most recent
activity forced the evacuation of residents and livestock in the
