Difference between fundamental and derived unit​

Fundamental units are the units of the fundamental physical quantities in SI system. They are not formed from other units. There are a total of seven fundamental units such as meter, kilogram, ampere, and second. Derived units are those units that are used for derived quantities.

Fundamental units

The unit which is independent of any other units of physical quantities is called a fundamental units

Derived unit

The unit which is expressed in terms of two or more fundamental units is called derived units
