Law of dominance
The two members of a gene pair (alleles) separate from each
other in the formation of gametes. Half the gametes carry one
allele, and the other half carry the other allele.
Genes for different traits assort independently of one another in
the formation of gametes.
This law states an organism has two different alleles for a trait
and the allele that is expressed in the phenotype, masking the
expression of the other allele, is said to be dominant.
This is a form of a gene that is hidden by another, dominant,
form of the same gene.
A cross between organisms with two different phenotypes
produces offspring with a third phenotype in which both of the
parental traits appear together. Blood type AB,
