Sunlight is the main source of energy for all life forms on earth. It is trapped by the green plants and other autotrophic organisms in order to conduct the process of photosynthesis. In photosynthesis, the light energy from sun is converted into chemical energy in the form of food. The plants are eaten by other organisms such as animals, birds and humans as a source of food and energy.
