What are the dangers associated with thunderstorms?

Thunderstorms are the storms which contain thunder and lightning. Thunderstorms forms when warm air reaches to the atmosphere where they become cool and condense to form heavy clouds.

These clouds contain a large amount of charge particles which can cause lightning. Lightning is the main danger associated with thunderstorms and kills approximately 2000 people every year worldwide.

Other dangers associated with thunderstorms are heavy rain which can cause  flash flood, hail, strong winds which can turn into tornadoes. Flash flood due to thunderstorm kills more people than tornadoes, lightning and hurricanes.
