Extrusive igneous rocks often have air pockets, but intrusive igneous rocks never do.
why do you think is this the case?

Well, from what I researched, Intrusive Igneous Rocks are formed under much greater pressure, therefore, they wouldn't have any space to make an air pocket, and since the other rock isn't formed under this great pressure, it has open space to have said air pocket. I hope this helps! ~Mia

I would say intrusive igneous rocks are made in higher pressure areas where the air pockets get squeezed out. 
Versus, Extrusive igneous rocks are in lower pressure areas, and gas bubbles formulate.
